Reviewing Four new White Portion versions of Thunder Mint Snus Favorites!

A strange thing happened to me while I was sitting on the Oval chair in my office in the SnusCENTRAL Bunker. As you all know, Larry had graciously set up an office of the Snustopian Consulate in the famed, and and plausably denied by the SnusCIA, SnusCENTRAL bunker which I think is very nice of him.

Not to complain, but I really get alot of people asking me if this is the “Water Closet” or “Loo”. I tell them that “No, this is the Office of the Snustopian Consulate” and …..well…..to make a long story short, the brass plaque on the door that reads “MENS” stands for “Main Entrance for New Snustopians“! Anyway, I’m off track. Lets talk snus.

I received a mysterious white bubble envelope with the only markings on it reading “Your wish has been fulfilled! M-U” When I opened the package, I was extremely excited to see four cans of what looked to be the Thunder Mint snus collection and Thunder Raw Ultra Strong snus.

After looking more closely, I saw that they were White Portion versions of the most popular Thunder snus flavors available! So, today I’ve decided to give you an overview of what Marc and Patrick at V2 Tobacco have created!

Now, I know what you’re all thinking “White portion versions of Thunder Extra Strong original portion snus? Can’t be very good since Thunder snus is know for it’s extreme flavors!“. Well, in my opinion, this is a totally wrong assessment.

While it is true that Thunder snus is known for having some of the most powerfully flavored snus on the planet, they haven’t forgotten this in the making of the Thunder White portion snus collection. Let’s begin at taking a look at which flavors they decided to make White.

V2 chose to make their most popular Thunder snus flavors in a white version and yes, they are still making these in ther Original portion versions as well. The lucky flavors are Thunder Frosted, Thunder Wintergreen, Thunder Cool Mint and, one of my favorites, Thunder RAW Ultra Strong snus.

The only thing that V2 changed was the portion material in these four brands. None of the flavors or the actual snus is different. Despite this, the white portion flavor profile is much different!

“Snus Guy, kinda sounds like crazy talk there. What exactly are you trying to say?” Yea…..I know it sounds a bit crazy but hear me out and you’ll see what I mean by the “profile” being changed.

Let’s start by explaining what the difference is between White portions and Original portions. It boils down to the final step in the manufacturing process. Prior to this last step, ALL portions are white. Portion snus that’s destined to become Original type portions get a few drops of water added to each of them before being placed in the can.

This additional water does two things. First, it helps the flavors to mellow and combine. Secondly, it allows the portion material to absorb the flavors of the snus, giving you an immediate burst of flavor. White portions do not get this final step which is why it can take a bit longer to taste the flavors in White portion snus.

To me, White versions of these flavors makes alot of sense primarily because one of the biggest things I hear about Thunder snus is the fact that they do tend to run (discharging their flavor, nicotine and moisture) quickly.

For die hard Original snus users, this is not a problem but for new snus lovers trying Thunder snus with its high nicotine, this can be a little overwhelming.

What’s really great about the White versions of these snus flavors is that the flavors are just as intense as their Original type siblings, have the same nicotine content, but are less runny. I’ve been using these four new white portions snuses almost exclusively over the last week and a half and can tell you firsthand that none of the flavor has been altered.

The new portion material is really soft and comfortable in the lip. I keep a portion in probably longer that most snus lovers and can say that I’ve experienced no irritation whatsoever with any of the Thunder White flavors. The only real thing that’s missing in the new Thunder Whites is the immediate, in your face flavor that you get with the Original versions. That is typical of all White portion snuses versus their Original portion counterparts, so no surprises here.

Overall Snus Lovers, I feel that the new Thunder White portion snus line will appeal to both Original and White snus lovers alike.

Original portion lovers will appreciate the fact that it’s the same Thunder flavors they like, but with less running. White portion lovers will like them simply because they can now try an extremely popular high nicotine, intensly flavored portion snus without the extreme, up front flavor burst.

Those new to extra strong and ultra strong snus now have a chance to experience 16 to 21 mg of Nicotine without the running which can irritate the throats of new snus users. This is my opinion; I encourage everyone to try the Thunder White collection and let me know what you think!
