Snus Leaks: Things we aren’t supposed to know

This year there have been a rash of WikiLeaks-style unofficial snus product information leaks.  Some have appeared on Instagram but some are from inside sources.  Swedish Match has suffered the worst and is yet to plug the internal leaker.

The upcoming launch of GR’ Original Portion Snus, The LAB 22 and LAB 24 slim portion snuses with Zylitol, and Nick & Johnny Green Ice Slim portion are old news now although not yet on the market……

Here are the latest snus leaks from our friend and informant Chad at Snubie.com.  It may be time for the SnusCENTRAL Intelligence Agency to take over the investigation as to who is leaking at Swedish Match.

UPDATE 2 Sep 2015, 02:29 GMT+6:  In response to our inquiries, Sweden Match confirmed with the following:

The products that are delisting in September;

• Catch Collection – Sweden
• General Variation Smoky Oak – Sweden
• General Variation Rustic Blend -Sweden
• The Lab Fresh (3 sku) – Norway
• Catch Spearmint Long Slim – Sweden
• Nick & Johnny Desert Green – Norway

The country listed is the over the counter market for these products. Most online snus shops carry both Sweden and Norway products.  New products other than those officially published by SMAB were neither confirmed or denied.

FDA Leak on General Snus MRTPA

Everyone knows Washington DC is full of “unofficial sources”.  One of our sources there revealed today under condition of anonymity as they are not authorized to speak for the agency that FDA could issue a decision on the General Snus Modified Risk Tobacco Product Application (MRTPA) in as little as two to three weeks.

There are three possibilities:  full approval, partial approval, or denial.  We didn’t have enough cash on us to determine which our source thought was the most likely.

Swedish Match aside, there will be more new product releases in September from a few different manufacturers.  More will follow until around
Week 46.

Gotlandsnus Höstsnus 2015

One of those arriving shortly is the return of the very popular Gotlandssnus Hostsnus Portion Snus.  Hostsnus is a seasonal fall offering arriving Week 37 and staying in production until 30 October.

The flavor of Gotland’s Höstsnus is a taste of apple and dark forest fruits and a little sweet notes.  If you didn’t try it last year, grab some this year.
