Thunder Chrome Series Snus Discontinued

Thunder Chrome Series Snus Discontinued

Goodbye Thunder Chrome but Coffee Supreme will return

V2 Tobacco announced that effective 28 December 2011, they had stopped producing the Thunder Chrom (Chrome) Long + Portion Snus Limited Edition Snuses.  V2 sources commenting on condition of anonymity since they are not authorized to talk about anything to anyone,  stated lower than projected sales were the primary reason for discontinuing the Chrom Series.  Of the five Thunder Chrome offerings, only Frosted will continue to be produced in a Long + portion.

I believe it wasn’t the flavors as much as the nicotine level and perhaps the moisture content of the long + portions themselves which accounted for the weakness in demand.  With no other alternatives, 12mg/portion nicotine was not a popular enough strength by itself to popularize a flavor.

The 2011 Thunder Chrome Limited EditionIn the case of Frosted, V2 offers this hugely popular flavor in every possible configuration:  Thunder Frosted Strong Mini Portion (8mg/portion nicotine), Offroad Frosted Regular Portion (8mg/portion nicotine), Thunder Frosted Long + Portion (12mg/portion nicotine), Thunder Frosted Extra Strong Portion (16mg/portion nicotine) and Thunder RAW Frosted Ultra Strong Portion (21mg/portion nicotine).  Both the Offroad Frosted and the Thunder Extra Strong are available as loose snus too.

The most popular flavor of the Thunder Chrome series; Coffee Supreme, will be reintroduced in January 2012 as Offroad Coffee Supreme (8mg/portion nicotine).  Currently under strong consideration is also adding Thunder Coffee Supreme Extra Strong Portion (16mg/portion nicotine) to the Thunder ES line-up later in the 1st quarter/early 2nd quarter of 2012.

Having had a hand in the creation of the Coffee Supreme flavor, I find it a real treat and look forward to the Offroad and especially the Thunder Extra Strong versions.  Coffee Supreme was and remains the best coffee flavored snus ever marketed by anyone.

In the meantime, the SnusCentral.com Snus Store has specially priced their remaining stock of Thunder Chrome Series snuses and samplers so load up while you can.

Nordstrommen Brandy Alexander Returns due to Popular Demand

In related V2 snus news, after a relentless bombardment of pleas from our friend Chad Jones and a Facebook challenge V2 issued which proved successful,  Nordströmmen Brandy Alexander Loose Snus will be making it’s triumphant return to the 2012 V2 product line-up as well.  No portion version is planned, at least at this point.

Nordströmmen Brandy Alexander was originally part of a Nordströmmen 4 flavor limited edition loose snus offering by V2 in April 2009 which was available for about 6 months.

V2 Tobacco’s success stems in large part from their eagerness to experiment with new products/flavors through Limited Edition offerings and their positive, proactive  interaction with snus consumers.  Both factors came into play in the return of Nordströmmen Brandy Alexander Loose snus and the upcoming births of Offroad Coffee Supreme Portion snus and Thunder Extra Strong Coffee Supreme portion snus in 2012.
