Strong Dollar means Low Swedish snus prices for Americans
Both the US dollar and the Swedish Krona are up against the Euro. Today one dollar would buy 1.05 Euro, a huge drop from 1.40 about a year ago.
What this means for American users of Swedish snus is that while snus prices (and taxes) are rising in Sweden, they are dropping dramatically for Americans buying Swedish snus from eStores in Sweden….
More Swedish Snus for your money!
“Some snuses are now priced 1 USD or more less than they were a year ago. Across our entire snus catalog, prices have dropped significantly.” says Moe Unz, Swedish snus legend and manager of the SnusCentral.com Snus Shop. “It is a very good time to be a snuser in America”.
Since snus manufacturers price their products in Swedish Krona (SEK), we asked Unz how Americans were able to buy Swedish snus cheaper in dollars.
“I have no idea; I am a snus manager, not a currency trader.” Unz replied. “I do know that between lower shipping costs and the strength of the USD, the amount Americans are charged per order is much less for the same snus than they paid a year ago.”
“I also know that when I order my whisky in euro’s, I am getting much more whisky for my money than a year ago too. I am in heaven!”
New Snus and General Kardus
There will be a good amount of new snus products and some returning friends beginning the very end of March/early April.
Swedish Match will be releasing their XRANGE brand starting with five snus offerings. Four are rebranded versions of old favorites but there is a new addition with more to follow.
XRANGE is scheduled to be released Week 16 but could make a surprise entrance earlier.
When Swedish Match created the 4000 boxes of General Kardus Selection 2015 in December, I wrote that when it comes to timing, think of General Kardus as a wine, not a snus. The flavor improves with age and is at its best 8-12 weeks from the date of manufacture.
I don’t know of a single person who bought General Kardus in December who didn’t break the seal on the can as soon as it arrived. Fortunately, Swedish Match anticipated this.
Of the 4000 boxes of General Kardus made, only 2000 were released in December. The remaining 2000 properly aged boxes of General Kardus 2015 will be released within the next few weeks.
As with the December release, Moe Unz is estimating the SnusCentral.com Snus Shop will sell out the second release in less than an hour. More news as it becomes available so good luck to the future fortunate few!
V2 Tobacco has just released Offroad Silver and Lakrits White Dry snuses. After huge input from Thunder Snus fans, V2 Tobacco is also creating 5 new flavored Thunder snuses for this year’s Special Edition.
The Thunder Special Edition 2015 will feature their giant snus can containing 2 cans each of the 5 new flavors. More news on the flavors and release date as they become available.
Enjoy your (cheaper than ever if you’re an American) REAL snus!
